Penacook Village Association Meeting

Attendance: Sarah Ford, Teri Maxwell, Steve Shurtleff, Brent Todd, Terri Culjat, Kathy Bush, Liz Blanchard, Ralph Harwood, Lynne Raleigh

Make a Difference Day: The turnout was small but nine volunteers and three hours later, the south end corner of Bonney Street/Village Street was cleaned up, two beds were cleared, and shrubs and perennials planted. The need to develop volunteerism was discussed along with appeals for task-specific projects with which people could identify and offer assistance.

December 8 Meeting:

  • Name tags for Board members
  • Handout: list what we’ve done in 2012 and include a membership application
  • Solicit ideas for the annual meeting during this monthly meeting

Tom Chapin Concert:

  • Create a special email address: ChapinConcert@penacook.org
  • Sponsor/Ad descriptions and application was reviewed
    • Deadline for applications will be March 1

Tree Lighting:

  • Posters: Teri Maxwell
  • Free advertising: Lynne Raleigh
  • Tree: need 15-20 foot tree. City will pick up, set up and install lights. Steve Shurtleff to oversee search.
  • Need gas heater to heat hot chocolate
  • Permit from city and permission of City Council: Steve Shurtleff
  • Crossing control: Ed Bush
  • Barricades and cones requested
  • Cookies: request from PVA members by email: Lynne Raleigh
  • Supplies list: list for Sam’s Club from Teri Maxwell to Lynne Raleigh
  • Santa: Steve Shurtleff will contact Al Brochu and Liz Blanchard will contact the Fire Chief.

Motion: If a free tree is not donated, the purchase of a tree is not to exceed $300.
