Lighting the tree

Several people and organizations deserve thanks for their contribution.

The Penacook Elementary Chorus, under the direction of Elaine Hashem, ushered in the holiday spirit with songs of the season!

Councilor Liz Blanchard was the Master of Ceremonies. Three years ago she gave the star at the top of tree to the city in memory of her husband. Her grandson, Zachary, provided a sound system and lead the caroling.

Councilor Steve Shurtleff made arrangements with the city for traffic control, set up of barricades to provide over 300 villagers the room to gather safely around the tree, and had the honor of flipping the newly-installed tree light switch to start off the celebration.
